Children’s Ministry

The primary focus of the TMCKL Children’s Ministry is on the teaching of God’s word as it says in Deuteronomy 32:2 “Let my teaching itself fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.”

For 2019, the activities organized by the TMCKL Children’s Ministry is aligned with the Church’s themes which are “Discipled to Disciple” and “Know Jesus”.

The TMCKL Children’s Ministry has two active components every Sunday:

  • Children’s Church (8:15-9:15am every Sunday except the First Sunday of every month)

The Children’s church helps children to experience and have a growing relationship with God through an engaging time of worship. The Children’s Church is also a mentoring platform whereby various roles during the Children’s Church service are done by the children themselves and this includes being the liturgist, praise and worship, bible reading and prayer time. Service is conducted in English and Tamil and we have children ranging from 4 years to 15 years old attending our Children’s Church service every Sunday.

Children are also involved in extra-curricular activities such as Sustainable Development, group work, public speaking, praise and worship and other activities based on a highly relational and fun environment with the objective to develop Christ like character formation in each child. These activities are also to ensure that they are armed with the required skills in leadership, team building, self-confidence and creativity using God’s word at all times.

  • Sunday School (10:00am – 11:00am every Sunday)

The TMCKL Sunday School which etches God’s word in the hearts of our Children is based on an age appropriate structured syllabus that is duly approved by the Tamil Annual Conference, Malaysia. The primary objective of the Sunday School is to teach our children to instill God’s Word in their heart, soul and mind so that they are always able to look to God throughout their journey of life.

We are also slowly changing the evaluation format – moving away from pencil and paper tests – more to project based, continuous and formative so as to impart Bible study skills i.e. to rightly interpret scriptures and applications.

Every year, the TMCKL Children’s Ministry organizes and participates in several key activities in Church:

  • Palm Sunday
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Special events such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day
  • Bible Rally, Debates and Memory Verse Recitals
  • Children’s Sunday
  • Christmas Programme
